Rush Ticketing

Ideal for: Full-time students • active military • seniors 62+

What’s the deal? Rush tickets are the remaining seats in performance that are offered for purchase at a 50% discount for full-time students, active military and seniors 62+. You must buy Rush tickets in person – but we’d love to see you!

How it works:

1. Call Patron Services at (858) 550-1010 or check out at today’s performance on our calendar to see if there are open seats.
2. Arrive at the theatre one hour before performance
3. Go to the Box Office and ask if Rush tickets are still available. Show your valid ID and purchase.
4. Congrats! You just saved 50% off the current price!

The small print: Two Rush tickets per valid ID. Rush tickets are subject to availability. Even if you see earlier in the day that there are open seats, it’s possible they will sell out before you arrive.

Group Sales

Ideal for: Advance planners • celebrations with friends and family celebrations • social groups and orgs, book clubs • corporate events • non-profit orgs • client entertaining • employee incentives

What’s the deal?
Single tickets: Save up to 35% on single ticket prices when you bring a group of ten or more.
Subscriptions: Want to enjoy multiple shows? Group subscriptions are available for groups of 10 or more who are seeing 3 or more shows, with great perks and discounts up to 20%.

Book a Group of 15 or more people, and Group Leaders get free ticket(s) and a free gift.

What’s the deal? If you are a current full-time UC San Diego student, you get Area 2 tickets for $15. That’s pretty much it.

How it works:

1. Click performance calendar to select your date
2. Enter Promo Code TRITON
3. Choose seats in Area 2
4. Add $15 TRITON tickets to your cart (limit 2) and check out
5. Pick up your tickets at Will Call the day of your performance and don’t forget your UCSD Student ID so we know the tickets are going to you
6. Now enjoy the show!

The small print: There are a limited number of TRITON tickets, so buy early! Limit 2 tickets per ID/order.

Ideal for: art-lovers aged 30 years and younger • those who are flexible on seating location

What’s the deal? If you are 30 years or younger, you get Area 2 tickets for $30 ($25 ticket plus $5 fee).

La Jolla Playhouse welcomes U.S. military personnel, spouses and children, as well as U.S. veterans.

La Jolla Playhouse has a long-standing commitment to the military personnel in our community, and we welcome you to our theatre. Tickets for military personnel and their immediate family are available for most shows. Please visit our season page to find out what’s playing.

4. Bring your Military ID with you to pick up our tickets at Will Call on the day of your performance, from one hour before the start time

Tickets cannot be collected in advance. Military ID must be shown to collect tickets, otherwise a difference in ticket price may apply.

$30 TICKETS FOR ALL SHOWS

As part of our efforts to offer access to affordable tickets for all, $30 tickets ($25 ticket plus $5 fee) in Area 3 are available for most performances.

These tickets do sell fast, so we encourage you to plan in advance to snap them up. The best way to do so is to subscribe to our newsletter so you are notified as soon as single tickets go on sale for each show.

You can also call Patron Services on 858.550.1010 and they can assist to find available Area 3 seats.

First Look (Preview) Performances

‘First Look’ performances (otherwise known as previews) are the first week of each show. These lower-priced tickets allow you to experience the show while the creative team continues polishing and making changes. This stage is vital for the show’s evolution, offering the creative team a chance to view it from the audience’s perspective. Playhouse staff provide a brief introduction, and the creative team may be in the audience near you taking notes.

To purchase during the lower-priced First Look performances, simply select a date within the first week of any show. If it’s a First Look show, this will be noted when you click on the date.

You can also call Patron Services on 858.550.1010 and they can assist to find available First Look seats.

If you love attending attend the theatre a few times a year, you can save hundreds of dollars on tickets with a subscription.

A subscription is much more cost effective than purchasing single tickets on a casual basis. It gives you first access to the best available seats, savings of around 25% or more on single ticket prices (the exact discount adjusts each year) and a range of other exclusive benefits, including early access to special offers, no transaction fees, free parking and free exchanges.

Lowest prices: A premium 6-Play subscription is a package of all 6 shows in the season, with excellent seats at the lowest prices that are renewable year after year.

Most flexibility: A Design-Your-Own (DYO) subscription is a package of 3 or more shows – you choose the shows that capture your imagination and the dates that suit you.
